Kansas City was our destination today.  We got a vey late start heading there since we spent the morning exploring St. Louis more.  So, having said this we may not have given Kansas City much of a viewing.  We got in about 5:30 in downtown Kansas City and hopped the free tram down to their relatively newly refurbished Union Station which opened in 1914, serving Kansas City, Missouri, and the surrounding metropolitan area serving a peak annual traffic of more than 670,000 passengers in 1945 at the end of World War II, quickly declined in the 1950s, and was closed in 1985.  In 1996, a public–private partnership undertook Union Station's restoration and in 1999, the station reopened as a series of museums and other public attractions. In 2002 the station returned as a train station when Amtrak began providing public transportation services The refurbished station boasts theaters and ongoing museum exhibits.  (Below is a stock photo which is better than what I had....)

Bob got his BBQ combo plate meal fix at Jack Stack Barbecue.  (I got BBQ trout which was delicious too).

That was it for Kansas City....we left in the morning for Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
