Heading to Ft Worth....this will prove to be one of our longest drives so we are listening to a Book on cd (The Devil in the White City). It proved to keep us quite entertained and actually we did not feel the drive was all that monotonous as we had worried. Started out with the air pretty foul smelling (solvent like) and dirty skies but eventually became clear with trees and greenery much to our pleasure. We arrived in Ft Worth just in time to have the entrance to our hotel blocked of for the "cattle drive" an event done 2 times each day in the Historical Stock Yard section of town. I imagine this was much more of an event in days gone by but we got the idea:
Our hotel was located in the Historical Stockyard so we were able to explore that area some more.
The old stockyards are now shops and restaurants with the flavor of the old west. It definitely threw you back to the feel of old historical Texas.
We had dinner at Joe T. Garcias, recommended by several San Diego friends. The atmosphere was as good as the food.

Joe T’s kind of reminds me of the Prado.
